FrançaisOpen Evensong

Draft, to be reviewed before launch.

Privacy

Your practice stays on your device. The account holds your email address and your plan, and that is what Evensong checks online.

  1. On your device

Your progress, journal, sketches, imported pieces and settings are stored in your browser (or in the desktop or Android app) on your own device. They are not sent to Evensong.

The microphone is analysed live, a few milliseconds at a time, to hear which note you played. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere. “Listen to yourself” replays your notes from memory on your device and keeps nothing.

The background sounds, the evening reminder and its calendar file are made on your device. Reminder notifications, if you allow them, are shown by your browser; nothing is sent to us.

You can save everything to a file, or erase it, from the app’s Settings. Clearing your browser’s site data also erases it.

  2. Your account

The free version works without an account. You make one when you want the trial or a plan.

The account holds your email address, your plan, the dates of your trial, and whether it is a beta account. It is stored with Supabase, our database provider, hosted in [region].

We use it to sign you in and to know which parts of the app to open for you. Nothing else.

  3. Payments

Stripe processes payments for Evensong. Stripe collects your card details and billing address under its own privacy policy.

Evensong never sees your card number. We receive your email address, the plan you bought, whether it is active, and Stripe’s reference for you as a customer, so you can manage the plan.

  4. Sync, if you turn it on

Sync between computers is part of a paid plan, and nothing is sent until you press Send this computer’s progress in Settings. Then a copy of your progress is stored in your account so another computer can fetch it: lessons, scores, journal notes, sketches, imported pieces and settings.

Each new send replaces the previous copy. The copy stays in your account until you ask us to delete it or delete your account.

  5. Feedback

If you send feedback from the app or the website, we receive what you write, the page or screen you were on, the app version, your browser’s language and, only if you choose to give it, your email address so we can answer. We use it to improve Evensong and delete it on request.

  6. Usage statistics

Evensong can send anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the app. They are off by default and are only sent if you agree in the app. You can turn them off again at any time.

They are not linked to your email address. Each one is a short event name (the app opened, a plan page was shown, a trial started, a checkout was opened, a sign-in), the plan type, and a random number made on your device. They are stored in the same database as accounts.

  7. The waitlist

If you leave your email address on the home page, we keep it with your browser’s language and the page you signed up from.

We use it only to send one email at launch and occasional news about new pieces. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we delete your address on request.

  8. This website

The website sets no cookies and loads its fonts from this site. The home page sends your email address only if you use the waitlist form.

We do not sell personal information or show advertising.

  9. Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, along with your account. You can also withdraw your consent to usage statistics or emails at any time.

Some of this information may be stored outside Québec by the providers named above.

Under Québec’s Law 25, the person in charge of the protection of personal information is [name, email]. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

  10. Contact

Write to [contact email]. We answer within [30] days.
